Sunny Weekend!!!

Jason and I decided we really needed to escape the winter weather of the north and head south for some sunshine and warmer temperatures. So when my sisters from Az told us they were headed up home for a visit, we jumped at the chance to meet up with them in Mesquite. Now I know that sounds crazy to run south for just a few days, but we were both in desperate need for some natural vitamin C and a road trip!! Of course running south means stopping in for some fun in Cedar with our buddys, the Burton's!!! Laurel and I took the girls on our traditional shopping trip, which we do everytime we visit! This trip was for new flip flops! Sorry I never got a pic with the girls showing off the goods. Also a special apology to Chelsi for not getting the toenails painted :( Time just got away from me this time! I will totally make up for it next time we get together!
We took Zeus with us to see how he would travel, which he did pretty good for still being a puppy. These 2 cuties belong to the Burton's neighbor, Jerry. He saw Zeus outside and had to bring his terriers over to play. They are a boy and girl silky yorkie terrier mixes. (Hope I got it right!) They are just a little bit bigger than Zeus, but I couldnt believe how similar they are to him!
Beautiful Chelsi keeping Zeus company while enjoying the warm sunshine!! I think Zeus has a new favorite friend! :)

Austin and Carson also soaking up the warm sunshine! Carson, you rock at basketball!!!!

This is pretty much how Zeus rode all the way home after a very big weekend for him. Thanks to Laurel and Steve for letting the kids (and pup) stay while Jason and I ran away for a night in Mesquite with my sisters! That weekend is just what we needed to re-energize us! Sigh...back to northern Utah spring! Today it is raining! :/

Random pix

I am so behind on my blog that I decided to quickly add some photos of some of the stuff thats been going on.

Zeus snuggling with Kylie on Christmas morning. Love the pjs Ky!

Emily showing off her Miami Dolphins sweatshirt (she was hoping Santa would bring her) while she plays 'Babysitting Mama' on the wii. She really WAS happy on Christmas morning (:

"TRADITION!!!"

Austin was in the musical "Fiddler on the Roof" at his middle school. He did fantastic, and the whole family had so much fun watching him on stage! He definately has a knack for acting and loves the spotlight! Anyone who really knows him would understand that! (: Peek a boo Kylie, we see you!

We had a HUGE snowstorm overnight, and Mom and Dad were here watching Austin's play when it hit. They were stranded on our side of the mountain due to the canyon being closed, so we had alot of fun having a slumber party with Grandpa and Grandma Hobbs! The kids sure enjoyed all the snow the next morning!

Lovely picture of how nice the snowplow drivers are here. The snowplow came by right after Jason and the boys shoveled the entire driveway, sidewalks, and our mailbox. I guess he decided that they needed a little more work to do. The entire entrance to our driveway pretty much looked like this. Thanx to our great neighbors who were willing to come over and dig us back out..again..with their 4-wheeler plow. I hope I said that right! (;

My boys hard at work! Thanx guys!

The little girls hard at work making oragami envelopes during Literacy Night at the school. I love the concentration on Emmy's face!

This pic was just too cute not to post! We all just love our Zeus!

Can you believe he is 16?!

I can't believe that my sweet little boy has grown up so fast, and is now 16 years old! Time flys by way too fast!
Trevor didn't want a sweet 16 party or anything, but Jason and I wanted to do something special for him. So we decided to give him a Baltimore Ravens theme birthday. Trevor has been a faithful fan for years!
So here is the cake made just for him with his favorite team.
Since he didn't want a party, we decided to totally deck out his room with his Raven's Team colors and decor. It took some time and patience, but it turned out AWESOME!
Trevor had a team calendar, and he picked out his favorite players, which we framed and hung on the wall.

His favorite gift was the Ray Lewis fathead that happened to arrive on his birthday. Whew! I admitt I was sweating it!

The 'In Your Face Ray Lewis' fathead. This is what Trevor sees first thing in the morning. Kylie can't believe it doesn't scare him in the night! LOL!

The room turned out so much better than I had even imagined, and Trevor is very happy with his 16th birthday gift!

Happy Birthday Trevor! We love you! :)

Birthday Girls!

October is the month of "girlie" birthdays for our family! So much fun for me to wrap and bake with the color PINK! Emily's birthday table. Lots of pink!
Pink Barbie with a pink car!

Emily wanted her birthday cake to be cupcakes this year. Yummy chocolate with pink frosting!

Kylie's birthday was next. She scored with some cold hard cash!

Ahhh...petshops always brings a smile to my Kylie's face!

Kylie's cake was a cheesecake this year. A girl after my own heart! :) Happy Birthday my sweet girlies!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was a crazy one for us this year. We went to the Weber State football game that afternoon with Grandpa and Grandma Hobbs, then rushed to get costumes on for trick or treating with Tosha and Kristin, then ran to Mantua for the free hotdogs and rootbeer the fire dept was giving out, and then finally up to Providence to meet up with Kristin! Whew! Needless to say....I forgot my camera! Surprised? Yeah I wasn't either. So here are some pix of the kids before the big day. Always fun to pick out your own pumpkin to carve. We love the farmers markets along the old highway!
Guess who!? Austin dressed up for hippie day at school. I love the fact he really can get into character!
Emily also dressed up for her Halloween program at school. She was a baby, and also REALLY got into character! Lol! We hope you all had a fabulous Halloween! We did despite the fact that we got rained on!

Play Golf!

It was so much fun to go and watch several of Trevor's golf tournaments this season. These are some pix from 2 of his tournaments here at the Eagle Mtn. Golf Course. We didn't want to distract the golfers, so some of the pix are a little faraway.

Trevor made Varsity all but one tournament this year. Not too shabby for being a sophmore!

I had to get this shot of the three golf bags together. Box Elder, Mtn Crest, and Sky View.

Waiting on the 18th hole. I thought it was cool that they all 3 sat together and chatted while they waited for the group ahead of them. Trevor met some way cool guys from different schools, and really had a fun time this year. Can't wait for next year, Trevor!

The Roof Came Tumbling Down!

Mom and Dad's roof on their house has needed to be redone for a little while now, so on Aug 7th we all showed up ready to help take off the old roof. The morning started off overcast, but the sun decided to shine through a little later to make it hot and miserable on top of the house. All of the guys were on top scraping, Bryan drove the bobcat, and the girls picked up shingles, nails, and what other debris fell from the roof.
Austin was probably the only guy on the roof that actually enjoyed it! I wasn't at all surprised.

These guys worked so hard all day long! It was so much harder than it looks, and harder than I thought it would be. Mom and Dad really appreciated all the support and hard work that everyone gave them.
New roof! My cousin Blair and his son came and put on the new roof a few days later.

The house looks great and is all ready for the winter months ahead.
